The Spectator - 11/26/2018

Nov. 26--HORNELL -- Elderwood at Hornell, with the support of the Alzheimer's Association® Rochester/Finger Lakes, is offering a day of pampering and relaxation for caregivers.

Individuals who care for people with Alzheimer's and dementia are invited to participate in Caring for Caregivers, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday at Elderwood at Hornell, 1 Bethesda Drive, Hornell.

Caring for Caregivers is a free program for members of the community, in recognition of National Caregivers Month, celebrated each November.

Participants will be treated to indulgent services including massages and essential oils, beauty pampering, live acoustic music and a catered lunch from Club 57. After lunch, a social worker from the Alzheimer's Association will speak about the Association's programs and resources.

To enable caregivers to participate in the event, Elderwood will provide supervised activities and lunch for a limited number of guests with dementia. A brief health screening is required with registration.
