Brio Integrated Theatre presents 'The Real Me' in Lowell and Somerville

March 05-- Mar. 5--Brio Integrated Theatre presents "The Real Me," a dramatic one-act play by Joseph Sorrentino, that gives a rare glimpse into a family that has a child with a disability. Brio, based in Winchester, is a nonprofit with a mission to collaborate with an integrate people with and without disabilities by using the arts as a mechanism for learning.

In "The Real Me," the audience, as the interviewer, will hear of the multifaceted journey of Nancy, a 24-year-old woman with a developmental disability, and her parents, Ann and Don. The compelling story was derived from interviews with eight families conducted by the playwright. Sorrentino will be at the events for a talk-back session.

Shows are April 1 at the Luna Theater, Mill No. 5, 250 Jackson St., Lowell (tickets $25) and April 5 at the Armory for the Arts, 191 Highland Ave., Somerville (admission is free). On both dates, a reception begins at 6:30 p.m. with the program starting at 7:30 p.m. Visit biotheatre.org for more information.
