BRIEF: Sharon Care Center Residents Receive Care Kits in Honor of National Nursing Home Week

The Chronicle - 5/25/2017

May 25--Residents at Sharon Care Center in Centralia received a surprise last week as care kits were delivered to senior living communities across the nation in honor of National Nursing Home Week, which was May 14-20.

Round Room LLC, the nation's largest Verizon authorized wireless retailer, had 500 of its TCC stores donate kits filled with adult coloring books, word finds, crayons, colored pencils, playing cards and tissues.

Each participating TCC store, including the one in Centralia, partnered with a local nursing home and donated 3,000 care kits across the nation, according to a press release.

The donation was part of TCC's "Culture of Good" movement. Earlier this year, TCC donated supply packs to more than 5,610 teachers across the nation. Last year, efforts included the donation of 135,000 backpacks full of school supplies to children, a contribution of $100,000 for materials used to improve the environment and a $250,000 pledge to Make-A-Wish, which allowed the organization to grant 25 wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions across the country.

TCC operates more than 800 locations in 38 states. The Centralia store is located at 1111 Johnson Road.
