Daily Item - 1/11/2018

Jan. 11--MAHONING TWP. -- Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation has been sold for $11,040,000.

The deed was filed in the office of Montour County Register and Recorder Linda Weaver. The purchaser was listed as 49 Woodbine Lane Property LLC.

A call placed to Administrator Michele Boone was not returned Wednesday afternoon. The Boone family has owned and operated Grandview since 1979. The Boones, who had grown up living above the facility, were the second generation to run the nursing home purchased by their father Jerry E. Boone.

The woman answering the phone at the nursing home, at 49 Woodbine Lane, said Boone's sister Lisa Boone was no longer with the nursing home. Lisa had worked at the home.

Their brother Michael Boone had served as chief executive officer.

Jerry Boone purchased his first nursing home in 1959 and managed more than 700 nursing home beds, including 172 beds at Grandview, during his career, according to Grandview history.
