Man walks into nursing home, demands drugs

Someone robbed a Worthington nursing home in order to acquire drugs, according to the Worthington Division of Police.
An unidentified man walked into the facility on the 6800 block of North High Street the afternoon of May 19, according to reports.
The man approached a nurse who was making rounds with the facility's prescriptions and told her he wanted "narcs."
He then put his hand in his shirt to mimic a gun, suggesting he had a weapon, reports said. The man was "very specific" with what drugs he wanted and left the facility with "a bag of pills."
Sgt. Jim Moran said investigators have "people we're looking at," but no suspects have been identified and the investigation is considered open and active.

* A man with a false identity was arrested after allegedly assaulting his wife at a Worthington hotel.
The 58-year-old Florida man assaulted his 55-year-old wife at the hotel on the first block of East Wilson Bridge Road the morning of May 22, police said.
At one point, he put her in a "choke hold" and she responded by hitting him with an iron.
The man had taken away her phone and prevented her from calling police multiple times, and she eventually fought free to call authorities, police said.
Officers arrested the man as he walked away from the hotel and charged him with a felony count of disrupting public service, along with domestic violence, assault and aggravated menacing.
Investigators then discovered the man had created a fake identity for himself and had a "lengthy" criminal record.
* Two houses were burglarized while residents were on vacation. The homes on the 6700 block of Rieber Street and the 400 block of Riley Avenue were burglarized between May 26 and 28.
In both instances, someone broke glass doors to gain entry.
Residents of the Rieber Street house reported nine guns missing; they were valued at more than $3,000.
The resident of the Riley Avenue house found a pair of sunglasses missing.
