BRIEF: Nursing home targeted in medication thefts

The Daily Ardmoreite - 8/20/2018

Aug. 19--Sulphur Police Chief David Shores said they have no suspects in a second theft at The Artesian nursing home facility on 15th Street in Sulphur.

The most recent break-in occurred Tuesday, Shores said. "It appears the point of entry was a window in one of the med aide rooms," Shores said. "There was a similar break in with a different window about three weeks ago."

Shores said the reports show 262 doses of Narco, 96 doses of oxycodone, 90 doses of morphine, 104 doses of Xanax and about 20 fentanyl patches were taken. The previous incident had a similar amount of medication stolen.

"There were three employees working at the time the building

was entered," Shores said.

Shores said Sulphur Police are investigating multiple leads in the case. Anyone with information should call the department at (580) 622-6266.
