Pa. man, 68, accused of indecently assaulting nursing home residents during Sunday school

Patriot-News - 8/21/2018

Aug. 21--A man who visited a nursing home in western Pennsylvania for Sunday school is accused of indecently assaulting several of the female residents there, instead.

As WJAC-TV reports, Thomas Patrick, 68, of Curwensville, Pa., faces seven counts of indecent assault without consent for several incidents at the Mountain Laurel Nursing Home in Clearfield County earlier this month.

Details from WJAC:

According to court documents, Patrick, who visited with a Sunday school group on Aug. 12, sat down between two female patients and began rubbing his hand up and down one of the patient's legs and then brought his hand up her side and touched her breast.

Another female patient told police that Patrick visited her on Aug. 13 and reached up under her shirt and touched her bare breast. The patient told police Patrick also touched her inappropriately on Aug. 12.

On Aug. 14, an employee of Mountain Laurel observed Patrick at the nursing home attempting to visit patients again, at which point he was advised by staff not to return and that police had been contacted.

Police said Patrick admitted to touching three patients at Mountain Laurel and stated he did it because he got a thrill out of it. But he said he didn't want his wife to know what was going on.

Patrick is a member of the Sunday school group, but not an employee of the facility.
