Marysville Globe - 10/4/2018

MARYSVILLE - Voices of the Village will perform a fundraising concert to help benefit people with disabilities on Thursday, Oct. 4.

The concert, featuring supporting act Blues Union, will be at the Red Curtain Theater, 9315 State Ave. #J in Marysville, located behind the Goodwill store.

Doors open at 6:30 pm. Come early for the silent auction. Tickets are available at the door — $10 per person or $25 per family is suggested.

The Voices of the Village (VOV) performance ensemble provides the opportunity for people with intellectual disabilities to experience the joy of creating live music. They host weekly Friday Music Jam sessions at Arlington United Church and a monthly Evening with the Arts dances at the Marysville YMCA.

Audience members are invited to participate using percussive instruments supplied by the band.

VOV is a program of Village Community Services that since 1964 has been empowering people with disabilities to achieve personal potential at home, work and in community life.
