"Forever Home" now available in Claremore

Claremore Daily Progress - 10/28/2021

Oct. 28—Claremore resident Pat Dyer created a rent house with the idea that it would be a "Forever Home."

"It's for the aging to live comfortably," she said. "I want to find somebody that needs it."

From the door handles to the cabinet height, Dyer wanted to create a house that is ADA compliant that would suit senior citizens and people with disabilities.

"I didn't do anything with out them in mind," she said. "God just put it on my heart to help the underdogs."

This two-bedroom, one bathroom house is equipped with a storm shelter, generator, walk-in jacuzzi tub and shower, lever handles, lowered sink, adjustable closets and wide doors.

"I just want it to be convenient for them," she said.

Dyer said she began working on the house in March of 2019.

The garage is big enough for anyone with car that has a wheelchair ramp. When it came to designing the garage, Dyer said she wanted the electric box close to the door that leads into the house — that way, if there is an emergency, it would be faster to access.

Dyer can be reached at 918-341-2224.
