CAMINAR: PROJECT 90

Provides a 12-step social model recovery program for alcoholic and drug-abusing men as well as dual diagnosis clients. The program lasts three months. Participants reside in the O'Toole Center for the first 30 days, then move into satellite homes with 6-12 men. Services include medical care, nutritional and diet supervision, psychiatric services, transportation, group and individual counselling, physical activity, vocational therapy, a 12-step education program and family group recreational-social therapy. After the first 60 days, men may work in the center or the community or continue day activities at the O'Toole Center. Clean and Sober Housing is available for graduates, and men who have completed other recovery programs. Also offers a Working Man's Program (650-401-8766), a residential recovery program for men who can't afford to take time off from their jobs. Project Intermission (650-696-9925) is a mentoring program for young men age 13-18 that supports teens who are abusing drugs or alcohol or at-risk for substance abuse An additional component of the program is a weekly support group for teens and young men age 13-24. Intermission House provides a safe, secure residential environment for young men age 13-17 who are likely to have a drug or alcohol problem. Services include assessment and treatment planning, educational and vocational planning, group treatment, structured activities and relapse prevention.

MY REVIEW GOES WAY BACK TO THE 90'S. I FAILED THE 1ST TIME I WAS AT PROJECT 90 WHEN MR.O'TOOLE WAS RUNNING THE CENTER,A FEW YEARS LATER I LANDED IN PALM AVE DETOX AND WAS ACCEPTED BY PROJECT 90 AGAIN,I WORKED HARD ON MY SOBRIETY AND TO STAY OFF METH I CONTINUED ON TO TRANSITIONAL HOUSING AND BECAME A HOUSE MANAGER,WE HAD A GREAT TEAM BACK THEN I'D SAY THAT 95% OF THE MEN WERE SERIOUS ABOUT CHANGING THEIR LIVES INCLUDING ME I READ THAT P90 LOST THEIR LICENSE TO TREAT MEN BECAUSE OF A DEATH AT NAPA STATE,I READ NOW THEIR MAKING A COME BACK HALLALUYAA!! I SEND A PRAYER OF LOVE AND STRENGTH TO ALL BOARD MEMBERS AND MR O'TOOLE'S FAMILY,I WAS IN DEEP SHOCK WHEN I SAW O'TOOLE CENTER BOARDED UP I STARTED CRYING AND FELL TO MY KNEES THANK FOR ALL YOU HAVE GIVEN ME..BRIAN FROM SAN LEANDRO,ACROSS THE BRIDGE
